Electronic Arts is keen to follow in the success of Battlefield 2042. To show its commitment to the series, it’s created a new Seattle video game studio called Ridgeline Games. Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the Halo series, will lead the new team into its future development adventures.
The main focus of Ridgeline for the Battlefield universe will be to create a new narrative for an upcoming game. Lehto will have several veterans with him on the team. While we don’t have the names of these experts as yet, it does sound rather exciting.
In the official report from EA, the game company indicates that the studio will be working on another epic title. It states that the business wants to continue to invest in Battlefield’s future, showcasing some new talent along the way. Ridgeline Games will have to show if it’s worthy to develop a new game in such a strong franchise.
Battlefield 2042 Season 2 has already started, so the news of possible a new game in the series is exhilarating. The trailer for the season is intense, teasing at the new content in the midst of battle. There are another 100 tiers to pass, so it’s time to get your guns armed and ready for action.
It will be interesting to see how Season 2 unfolds. An update for Battlefield 2042 Season 1 saw the removal of the 128-player mode. Many of us are hoping that the same problems don’t appear in the new season with so much new content available to gamers.
